I’ve started traveling once a month into Toronto by Via Rail on the Quebec City – Windsor Corridor.
This morning will be my 6th such trip.
My train has been late - in both directions - every trip.
Is it always like this or am I just unlucky?

@mick That's one of the driving factors for the #VIArail #HFR project: trains in the Québec-Windsor corridor are not only slow, they're slower than they used to be, and frequently late as well. The problem is that they mostly use CN tracks, where CN has right-of-way, and the number of CN trains is steadily growing.

@mick I travel Montreal-Toronto every 2-3 months since 2022 and I think it's been on time twice or three times. It's typically 20-30 minutes late.

@mick I was astonished at the timeliness of German trains. Not like Swiss trains! But still better than here, and delays show up in the app so workarounds can be found.
I haven't used Canadian trains in decades … I'm sad to hear delays are still so common -
Return trip was *special.*
It left the station 45 minutes late and then stopped on the tracks midway home for an hour and 15 minutes due to some signaling issue.
We were compensated with a free granola bar and a small bottle of water though, so it’s all good.
