My best aliexpress find recently was this DIY leather kit where you make a little case for your earbuds. They have a few other options for little crafts to make. It's very simple, and relaxing and can be done in 1 or 2 hours tops. (so it's not like starting a new hobby)

To my amazement it came with everything you need to make the case: needles, threads, etc.
