@chris ANd its a very welcome trend.
Last year Manitoba turfed its nutbar PC party. BC just held its nutbar PC party at bay - barely. NB just turfed its nutbar PC party - Im not so hopeful for Nova Scotia next month.
And I really hope in Ontario Ford gets sacked by a horrendous scandal, but he seems completely bulletproof somehow Im really depressed.

The majority needed is 31. The Sask Party is currently at 30 and the NDP is at 6. 24 to go all urban ridings.
We'll see if there is enough of a late push to prevent what seems like an automatic win just with the rural ridings.

@LALegault still early. They just pointed out that the NDP vote in Scott Moe's riding, a safe SKParty seat was up by more than 10%.

@chris New Brunswick washed out Higgs and his right wingers out of government. Let's hope the same thing happens in #Saskatchewan.

@chris @neutron_chick and if it ends up being as tight as BC could be next year before a final result is Horse and Buggeyed to the LG for someone to form government (sarc) - I have very good friends in Sask, who hate the hand count system (use it as a back up, sure, but this should be called by now)
-
@chris @LALegault I fear the voters of my province are more interested in oppressing trans kids than having a working healthcare or education system...
-
@MatWright @neutron_chick To their credit, the Elections SK website very clearly sets out *how* and *when* specific types of ballots are counted. After tonight, there is another count on Thursday of mail ballots and Final Count isn't until November 9th.
-
@ianhecht @LALegault fingers crossed for you!!
-
I had high hopes for my Saskatchewan friends, but so far... my hopes are low
-
@chris @neutron_chick basically same as every province - although Elections BC claimed absentee were counted on E-day, until they were not (finalized today)
-
@lowies @LALegault don't give up hope yet! Still 19 seats to come!

Just to emphasize how early we still are and how small Saskatchewan is, there are less than 900,000 eligible voters in the province! 82,000 votes counted so far.
Check out the results chart. We are only just approaching 10% of eligible voters so far. Turn out last election was just over 50%.
Leading
SKP: 31 (62.6%)
NDP: 13 (27.5%)
Seats Outstanding: 17
Needed for Majority: 31

@chris @neutron_chick and Chris, having been in campaigns (too many), Elections BC claiming absentee were done on E-day doesn't make any sense - yet it was reported multi-times in media - those out of riding ballots (like remote workers), need to be physically sent to the voter's home riding for verification by that particular election officer, they are always the last to be counted - 'tabulated' yes, like how many absentee were cast - counted, absolutely not
-
@MatWright @neutron_chick i think there was some confusion in the media because of the ability for people (like me) to vote out-of-riding and have the vote counted immediately on election night because of the electronic ballot counters and ability to print out riding-appropriate ballots anywhere the "tech" was available.
