Heroes are a sign of dysfunctionFor every hero in whatever context you care about, there are likely dozens of skilled, caring, diligent people who were pushed out to make room for the hero.

@[email protected] can we just focus on the fact that in all stories with heroes everyone just kinda is helpless? we could team up to solve society’s problems but no we just kinda wait and rely on this "heroic" figure to be the saving grace of everyone?

@jenniferplusplus alternatively, sometimes the hero is the one person who can save the day because they are too fresh to be burned out yet (not a sign of a healthy environment either!)
