The people that think collaboration can't happen remotely are also the ones who only get their ideas implemented by being loudly wrong and basically a bully. They need face to face interaction because how else will they float around, sprinkling their bad ideas, and pushing for features that both no one asked for and don't meet user's needs.

These same people always neglect thinking about people that have disability accomodations that require them to WFH which says a whole lot else about the kind of people they are and who they deem as worthy collaborators.

@hbuchel I can honestly count on my hands the number of days I've been in the office this year.
The days I go in are good, as they usually are planned and have purpose. Outside of that most of my work is remote, and as some recently described, my team "...are becoming the centre of the universe..." with the integrations we work on - and it could have only been through remote collaboration.
