As of version 1.0.0 NodeBB has by default enabled sendmail transport plugin. So it's enough to make available "sendmail" command in your system.
For example on Debian Jessie with postfix installed you can do so with symlink:
ln -s /usr/sbin/sendmail /usr/local/bin/sendmail
and test it like:
echo "Test mail" | sendmail -i -f email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: I know it's an old thread, by I want to make it clear to those who comes here from google, like me.
@JasperNL thanks for that, now I know where I went wrong
Are you free to assist with where I find the Directory of the NodeBB install? Eg what folder I am looking for?
Forgive me if that's a noob question, I've not messed with anything like this before
EDIT: Found it! Great assistance
Oops. Didn't see this one. Try what @pitaj said and hopefully it should work. IIRC the hooks in that plugin should still be valid in the current release, I just haven't updated the nbb package manager version for 0.8.2 yet
