Cannot install with MongoDB on Windows 10

    Hello, I'm a first time user trying to install nodebb with mongodb. I've created the nodedb database for mongodb and added the nodebb user, and verified that I can connect with that user through mongoDB, however; after going through all of the steps when I enter node app.js --setup everything runs for quite a while until I get an error stating: 16/11 23:04 [11012] - error: NodeBB could not connect to your Mongo database. Mongo returned the following error: auth f
    ailed
    16/11 23:04 [11012] - warn: NodeBB Setup Aborted.
    MongoError: auth failed

    Any suggestions?

    I'm in! I was taking the default database name of 0 instead of entering my database name. Doh!

    @LEVI-HAVIV have you installed Nodejs? It appears the npm command (included when installing Nodejs) doesn't exist on your system.

    @pitaj you're right, I've just upgraded to the latest version (v1.10.1) and everything seems fine!

    I wasn't talking about host identifier, I was talking about how to set up using auth and managing your DB's.

    You having connection issues you should post all your logs, including nodebb, nginx configurations etc.

    Heroku install went smooth, but app crashes immediately

    I think I figured this out after trying to run it locally,

    The Heroku install steps say to add the follow dependencies to you package.json:

    "dependencies": { ... "nodebb-plugin-dbsearch": "0.0.10", "redis": "~0.10.1", "connect-redis": "~2.0.0" }, "devDependencies": {

    But looking closer, nodebb-plugin-dbsearch is already in the package.json at a higher version. This conflict seemed to cause the crash.

    I am guessing that recent versions of nodeBB have changed so this part of the doc is no longer applicable. Here is a pull request to adjust the docs, if I am correct in this assumption:
