I definitely have no desire to read Lord Fouls Bane.
I do wonder how many folks read the Series and it's somehow contributed to the torment nexus.

Wow the Goodreads page on this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/219205.Lord_Foul_s_Bane
It's the marmite of books.
Well if you want to hand wave away the protagonist raping the girl who cured his leprosy. Because he thought it was a dream.
This guy is the chosen one? This guy?

@onepict When I was a teenager I read just about every fantasy novel I could get my hands on, but I didn't finish the first book in the Thomas Covenant series.
Even if you make excuses for the main character's actions after the hurtloam, how do you make excuses for the author putting that in a fantasy book aimed at young boys?
It didn't stop there: I seem to recall self-harming giants and other stuff. Not sure what kind of childhood Donaldson had, but geez.

i was a very voracious SFF reader in my teens and 20s. one of the very few books i remember distinctly *not* finishing was the first covenant book.
nothing could convince me to read anything of his after that experience.
