@skinnylatte I notice some Malaysian restaurants do seem to focus on a particular region or subset of Singapore-Malaysian cuisine. But I'll take your and the interviewees point under consideration.

@ChasMusic northern Malaysian vs southern is very different, various states have their own thing, East Malaysia too. But if we weren’t separate countries we’d still be bitching about northern vs southern Malaysian food and which is better
All close cousins, though. I imagine restaurants would focus on what they’re most familiar with
