Time for a new survey: What is the best #web #hoster for small to medium web projects in / in 2024?
My shortlist at the moment:
β Hetzner (https://www.hetzner.com)
β Uberspace (https://uberspace.de/de/ β nerds only)
β netcup (https://www.netcup.de)
β all-inkl (https://all-inkl.com)Does anyone have experience with lima-city (https://www.lima-city.de) and Hostinger (https://www.hostinger.de)?

@matthiasott allinkl if you are into 'classic' web. ie sftp/ssh, lamp stack. the mail/spam filtering seems not to work very well, or maybe that is due to the sheer amount of spammy mails my addresses are getting, but my subjective impression is that since the switch to allinkl more spam gets through, even with all the filters engaged.

@webrocker My site is hosted on all-inkl for years now and I am very happy overall. The βKASβ feels a bit archaic these days β but at least it works well and an OG like me doesn't have to learn new stuff every few months. I once had an issue where KeyCDN was blocked from accessing my site and thus couldn't pull my assets. The support couldn't really help me with this, so I had to remove the CDN from my site (which was probably overkill anyway).

@matthiasott No experience with any of these, but if you care about the environment: Hetzner, Uberspace, lima-city and Hostinger are the only ones in your shortlist that are in the directory of the Green Web Foundation: https://app.greenweb.org/directory/

@matthiasott Iβm happy with https://webgo.de for years now.

@matthiasott I'm on team Hetzner for quite some time now.

@matthiasott I'm with allinkl since '03 and am pretty happy with it for my (and for a couple of friends) personal domains and sites. I recently upgraded from a "PrivatPlus" plan to the "Premium" plan (for the sole reason of free included domains) and reordered my account structure on the way. In the end it's a pretty basic LAMP stack, but it works for me very well. All my encounters with their support team were handled very well and usually quite fast, too.

@matthiasott
Websites with all-inkl.com (Premium) and webgo.de (Profi) and can recommend both. -
@matthiasott Surprised that nobody mentions https://www.ovhcloud.com/, I thought they were _the_ competitor of hetzner in the EU. I'm trying them out atm and no problems so far.

@oliver3 Oh, interesting! π§ Thanks, Oliver!

@matthiasott An agency we work with uses cyon.ch, we had the best experience with their support.
We use Hetzner VPS and dedicated servers for some projects.
