Probably some sort of exercise. There is an American P8 maritime surveillance plane over the Island, and the C130 is now in the area of CFMETR test range. Perhaps they are doing a torpedo test on the range today.

She was spotted headed north off of Nanaimo just now. C130 might have been shadowing her.

@chris Hope you don’t mind if I ask for an update on this, I used to work at Sproat Lake and saw the Mars doing maintenance runs, that would have been 2014/2015, I thought she was coming down to Victoria indefinitely?

@sweetmslily Hi no worries! You should see the rest of my thread with what happened today! Phillipine came back to Port after engine trouble when she tried to go to Arizona in December. She was stuck at Pat Bay over Christmas. Now they are going to swap the rest of her engines foe the engines from Hawaii which is in Victoria at the museum and try to fly Phillipine down by end January
