It would be nice if Mastodon handled quote-posting at all, of course, so it would have a standard way of working with it but it's irritating at the moment to just see a RE: and a link I've then got to click on just to have any idea what someone wants to share.

@neonbubble There has been moments of weakness where I've thought it's be better to be based on Bsky and bridged out to here if it wasn't for my desperation not to trust yet another corp that could easily be bought up by another fascist billionaire. Quote posting was on the cards here during that rare increase in users but that boat has sailed and sunk.
It is what it is I guess. -
@emsquared I've got this account bridged there, and I've got an account on there which simply follows some feeds but no users. I use it to read some stuff but don't post there. Right now this is all good enough as the quoting here would be nice but it's not crucial, but if BlueSky got a decent advanced layout or Tweetdeck-like interface for desktop with real time updating for columns then the features would make it very tempting to ease off Mastodon, and I hope it doesn't come to that.

@neonbubble I bridged here just to refollow a few radio things( It's a bit like looking through a keyhole especially if people don't bridge back to me). If this place died I think I'd finally kick the social media habit.
