@Nazani I think also new is a kind of mass delusion being deliberately massaged by most of the Republican party.

Wait... you didn't tell me you're Jewish, too!! Did you convert? Or maybe just sympathizing is enough? Or are "we" teaching our supporters how to "do it"? -

Women could do something about this within 1 generation... but at huge risk & sacrifice. It wouldn't be pretty. -

The threading on Mastodon could be clearer as to what comment is being replued to….

@serendip1959 Yes, you're right about that.

@lolonurse I agree. And one major blueprint has been there for centuries in Aristophanes' "Lysistrata."

@lolonurse I actually didn't know that when you spoke of what your NC friend said to you, she/he was referencing your being Jewish. I thought she was talking about your being a liberal or a Democrat. No, haven't converted to Judaism here. But still standing, as I always have, with the Jewish people against antisemitism.

I was teasing you. And yes, once you're so comfortable with someone's true, good & sassy self, making 'inside' jokes is always OK (short of bad taste like a death in the family...but then, they wouldn't do that). Crystal is very spiritual & Earth Mother based, and an amazingly kind, genuine human, as are you. Banter sometimes solidifies that. Or not - (sorry, I'm operating on 3 nights of 3 hours sleep... probably time to close mouth. -

@lolonurse I'm sorry I missed the tease. "They' are throwing around so many lies about who's to blame for what, that I get confused about who's the subject du jour! Humor can be sometimes difficult for me to pick up on on social media, without facial cues.

Me too! But between my age, my old-hippie-feminist WTF attitude anymore, & the fact that everyone I follow here is at least a liberal, if not progressive/activist/vocal critic of present day shite...
I tend to take a few risks that people will know that I'm either open, snarky, tongue-in-cheek, playful, or just damned pissed off.
But it's always OK to ask/ check, and if you need me to make fewer presumptions, I can do that, too! 🤭 -

@lolonurse I'm honored to be connected to you. You need to change nothing as far as I'm concerned! And as Yom Kippur arrives, I want also to wish you Yom Tov.
P.S. If you haven't seen Benjamin Wittes on Yom Kippur and atonement, you may find his essay worth a read. I like him a lot, both his courage in constantly needling the Russians about Ukraine, and also his wry sense of humor.
