@ktneely Nice, thank you!

I did the same and grabbed my username. I don't get it, but 90% of my colleagues went to bsky not mastodon.
Anyhow, on making the fedi-friendlier,
a question: for scientists listserves, I point scientists to this to get started on mastodon https://nathanlesage.github.io/academics-on-mastodon/#curated-account-listsBut many of these accounts are largely inactive. Do you know of a way to highlight active scientist accounts (I know you have some tools for id'ing active accounts)? Or do you know of any better resources?

@atthenius I've been following Bluesky since it was originally announced, while it was still a Twitter project. I was really hoping they'd choose to build it with ActivityPub.
Once they announced they're going with their own protocol, I lost all interest. I even had an invitation very early on. Oh well.
As for natively supported starter packs, this is something a few people have been looking into, including the Mastodon team, so I think we might actually see something pretty soon!

That is encouraging indeed for mastodon.
I've noticed an uptick again in folks joining my server, so I think it would be timely for sure.

@atthenius Definitely! And you might have also seen that they're also working on quote posts and block list improvements, including shared blocklists.
