...put me back in the mindset of dragons: dragons vs. dragon-slayers, autists vs. neuronormatives.
"Vile archfiend! You must be stopped!"
"Why?"
"You're DIFFERENT!"The criminal "sin" of the dragon is being born different, which is why I find them incredibly relatable. Big, scaly victims of bigotry. It's funny how it aligns, really. Bio-essentialism in fantasy is "safe" bigotry.

[P] I'm going to toss a few more tags in here as I want game designers and writers to see this. I want to put a harsh, billion lumen light on what bio-essentialism is. If you include it? You're enabling bigots and training them to be better bigots. If someone is pressuring you to include it? It's because they want that kind of safe-space and training ground for bigotry. Bigotry stops with you not permitting it.

@wearywulf this is especially true to the Dungeons genre, that is especially common in Anime, Manga, and their Korean equivalents whose names I always forget.
In those stories, Dungeons appear out of the blue, containing monsters, that are almost always irredeemably aggressive and violent, that therefore must be destroyed.
A somewhat self critical example of this is Delicious in Dungeon (it's on Netflix) --- that show is very good at criticizing the genre's and D&D's tropes, at justifying them (watch it to see what I mean), and at bringing new, unexpected yet in hindsight obvious ones.
D&D (that inspires the Dungeons genre) is incredibly at fault for this. It has grouped a lot of fantasy tropes and shallowed them into "evil monsters" --- you can see it in its alignment system. It literally is medieval villagers killing anything different (referring to antisemitism and the black plague). Ironic, innit.
