The political world is larger than voting.
A couple political parties cannot encompass all of political thought.
"Just Vote" is scratching an infected itch. (Sure, do it, but dont rely on it)
A world opens up to you when you meet with your neighbors and build things in your town. You realize just how constrained and limited the options that you are presented with are.
This is by design.
You are meant to stare into a little room, be frustrated with the limited options, find none of them work, and then lament on "I want to do something, but can't!"
There are options.
There is much you can do.
Even with limited time, no money, no (perceived) skills, and no (perceived) ability.
Go see your neighbor. Go build in your town. You will succeed.

@tinker I read a while ago that politics follows cultural and social movements. Professional politicians will find them and adopt them.
Like with sports...you don't need to call the scouts...if you're good enough, they'll find you.
