can someone help me understand why we use the podcast:people tag when media:credit
We are completing our integration of people tag and just noticed this when we where looking over thumbnail tag.
Do we add both, to meet standards?
I get people has more options, just want to support as much as possible and we can add media:credit as well while we roll out people.
Media RSS Specification (Current)
Version 1.5.1 of the Media RSS specification, a namespace for more robust media syndication in RSS feeds.

@russell @nathan @james I’m not aware of any instances of media:credit in the wild. It seems to be an unused tag.
The media namespace, in general, has a major problem of having no oversight anymore. So if the spec wants to be expanded there’s nobody who’s in charge of doing that. It’s a “dead spec” in that regard, so using the podcast namespace versions of tags where appropriate is preferred.

I see 721 podcast feeds with media:credit at the channel-level
and 123 podcast feeds with media:credit at the item-level
one advantage of media rss is all of google's rss things know about it - it's part of their common parser
but these days that's not much of an advantage
