The long-playing record was dead media in the 90s and came back, and I'm okay with that.

But that created a disconnect. And that gives me pain.
Because you say "on vinyl" when you have an album in that format, but they're LPs, not vinyls. I will die upon this hill.

@jacobydave itβs also called a VCR not a VHS player.

@mattl @jacobydave not all of them recorded. In school we had some VCPs. Most were VHS VCPs but a couple were Betamax VCPs, and one was a CVHS VCP.

@cestith @jacobydave Iβve also seen those called a VTP however the vast majority were VCRs. It was unlikely for someone to have a VTP at home. It was also unlikely for someone to have a DVD recorder at home.

@mattl @jacobydave I have a couple of DVD recorders but I'm not your average home user. I used to have a couple of 8-track tape recorders, too.

@mattl @jacobydave I never got around to MiniDisc. I have a few DCC but not currently a working player. I have some DAT and a bunch of data DDS 2, 3, & 4.
I do have about 30 Selectravision disk cartridges and three players though. I have a microfiche reader. I collect old computers and software & peripherals for them. I also have thousands of computer books.
