Why do people talk about xitter, nitter, not twitter?

Why do people talk about xitter, nitter, not twitter? Why do you say "orange guy" not Trump? If people want to filter content, shouldn't we help them by using the words they don't want to see?

@adamshostack the synonyms (like "hell site") also mean the same things at this point.
nitter is an alternative trackerless UI for twitter so that's different (it's not a euphemism it's a piece of software). I suspect xitter means something similar.
drumf / orange guy / insert-clever-insult can usually be predicted and muted.
some people take different sides on the issue.

@risottobias Thanks , and that’s a statement that this is ok (I don’t disagree) but doesn’t touch on why people are doing it.

I personally refuse to dignify TFG with his name, especially as I live in a ruby red state with open carry laws.
