People have got used to it and accepted it, even though they hate it.

I wouldn't entirely say nobody was doing anything (for example there is very quiet evidence of ongoing regulatory alignment, but one has to be pretty nerdy to notice).

What little there is, is generally very low key, because Brexit still has that Dreyfus Affair effect of dividing people along tribal lines, and nobody who is actually using this stuff for anything wants to feed the trolls, because they've had enough of the insane political instability.

If the USA is lucky enough to come out of this intact, if the populism burns out, I imagine there will be a long moment during which it will be spoken of as little as possible.

But I say this in the knowledge that the reason why we do not talk more about Brexit is that *we* haven't yet emerged from the situation either. It is just in remission right now. There's plenty more potential for insanity out of the populist loons yet.

I can't predict how it will go. That would be an incredibly fucking stupid decision, though. We need relative stability and that would be quite the opposite.

I am currently teaching a course on regulations and read out a bunch of slides on US AI regs literally yesterday, knowing full well that their content will be toast by January. The slides on data protection and medical devices already doubled in length thanks to UK regulatory instability. I only persuaded myself to record the lecture by thinking that it was better to light a candle than curse the darkness.
