@wdlindsy Not to mention it being yet another example of Trump's contempt for women in authoritative roles.

When I see a "Veterans for Trump" sign I'm going to be attempted to add a print out of this to the side...but then I realize that anyone who would put that sign outside their home would be honoured if that ass posed with a thumbs up over their grave.

Extra weird is that looking closely (to do the outline) made me realize that neither of the people on either side of him are actually in contact with him. There's a few inch gap on both sides. Contrast that with Harris & Walz and their joy when interacting with constituents.

Going through his mind? He has a mind?
Actually, everything is about him, so there is no other context outside his own presence.
Driven by insatiable lusts,
drunk on the arrogance of power,
hypocritical, deluded,
their actions foul with self-seeking,

#republican judges and justices have made it crystal clear #Trump is free to ignore the law as long as he pushes their agenda (i.e, #project2025).
So why would anyone expect him or his gang to obey the rules at #arlingtonnationalcemetery ?

@wdlindsy And it’s not just Trump. The family is giving a Thumbs up too. It’s obscene.

@wdlindsy 1000%. There is no outside world in Trump’s mind.

@wdlindsy And as ever, it’s a study in how he co-opts people. Look what he’s made this family do to one of their own. He’s made them complicit in horror. Cognitive dissonance says they’ll give infinite energy to rationalizing what they’ve done for him.

@wdlindsy Yes. The abuse itself is the point—demonstrating their power over every institution, every social norm, anything that might restrain them. He systematically destroys all authority but his own.

@wdlindsy That looks like the exact same Thumbs Up pose he gave at the hospital bedside of that shooting victim several years ago. Seems to be his go to pose.

@wtrmt Sort of places Trump's behavior at the most crass adolescent level possible, doesn't it? As if he has never matured beyond that level though he's an old man now….

@samhainnight It is, for sure. Jonathan V. Last does a good job of showing how this has become his go-to pose, as you rightly say. It's his shtick, which he thinks works for him in any and all circumstances.

@Arqtec An interesting parable about how our parents live on in us, isn't it? About the psychic damage they can do that afflicts their progeny for the childrens' whole lives. Mary Trump has written illuminating things about this from her perspective as a psychotherapist who's also a family member.

@SoGeneris Yes, I agree. The point of destroying all authority and all institutions is to force us to turn to him as the strongman, the savior figure, the one above it all who doesn't have to answer to law or rules.
