"Yesterday, the U.S. Army issued a stern rebuke to the Trump campaign over his visit on Monday to the Arlington National Cemetery...

@wdlindsy I saw another photo where everyone else also had their thumbs up with Trump at this gravesite.

@wdlindsy I still want to know why no one has called out the woman with the white power sign while standing near a Black hero's grave (One of those on the other side)

@wdlindsy I think the personality disorder, narcissism, is used so often to describe selfishness that people don’t truly understand what narcissism, in particular, donalds heinous blend of malignant sociopathic narcissism looks like They do not care about empathy. They do not care about the deceased. He buried his ex wife on his golf course! They don’t care. I’m sure he cares now because he’s being mocked, but he still doesn’t care about respecting the deceased or military.

@wdlindsy is the woman in the blue dress beside Trump making the white power hand signal?

@Oldfartrant I have seen commentators suggesting this, and a friend of mine on Facebook asked me that same question. As you know, they have a habit of doing this and then ridiculing anyone who points out what they're doing, pretending that people are seeing what's not there.
But I suspect that's what she's doing.

@DEDGirl That's a good point. On that point, I think Mary Trump's perspective has been especially good, because she has known the man her whole life and known him up close, and because she's a trained psychotherapist. A psychopathic selfishness is the very core of narcissism.

@ralph058 The white nationalist right has made it almost impossible for people to notice and talk about this, when they flash these signs, because they immediately claim that triggered libs are reading into innocent hand gestures what's not there.

@zemsgram If you can retrieve that photo, I'd like to see it. I do think one photo I saw showed at least one other person flashing a thumbs-up sign along with him.

@zemsgram Yes, I do, too.

@LPerry2 Yes, I wonder, too. I have to say that the presence of the Utah governor both appalls and amuses me. If big-wig Mormon men want to appear any way at all, it's grave and dignified — and benign when their policies are anything but benign. Hard to appear grave and dignified when you're standing with this freak show, and I have to say, Shame on Spencer J. Cox.

@AnOldGuy So it appears — so it appears he imagines this is the case, and makes it be the case.

@peterbrown Yes, a very good point. Orwell had much to say on that score, didn't he?

@wdlindsy my mother was a narcissist. It’s definitely selfishness to an extreme. And really drives a person crazy that the narcissist doesn’t recognize it in themselves. They can do no wrong in their own eyes. I love Mary.

@Greengordon I'm not sure whre the material you're quoting is coming from. I don't spot it in Mary Trump's article, and had thought you were responding to that. What I've read is that the Army employee herself decided not to press charges.

@wdlindsy actually it was in a link to https://davidrothkopf.substack.com/p/nature-is-sending-you-a-message-about. that you posted about 8 hours ago. If you look at the people in the picture most of them also have their thumbs up. I’m no good at copying links or posting pictures.

@wdlindsy Oh look I did it! Guess I’m not as bad as I thought.

@SueDiOh When someone in any chain of command makes a complaint and then refuses to follow through with it — for whatever reason — that leaves people up the chain of command with a problem. The problem is how you can pursue a matter when the person reporting the infraction does not want to have it pursued.

@jredlund A "simulacrum of an emotion he doesn't have" is a very fine phrase here.

@zemsgram Thank you! Yes, that's the one I saw. And you're right: more than one person in addition to him is flashing a thumbs-up sign. They are, of course, his followers and the ones who invited him, so they themselves weren't offended, I'm concluding, when he turned the invitation into a political stunt. I'd say they expected that and delighted in it.
