@octothorpe I think the odd shaped Honda Insight was first? It was different looking but had impressive range for the battery size. A friend of mine bought one.
Ah, yes first in North America but not first in Japan:

@GeekAndDad ah yes!! I totally forgot about the Insight. It was cool! It never caught on like the Prius. Donnow why.
