A.R. Moxon sees that those who voted for Trump are in it for the cruelty, whether they admit that or not. The wild popularity of a proposal to round up millions of people, incarcerate and then deport them, tells us this loudly. He writes,
"Everyone who voted for Donald Trump and his fascist party must be considered to be, on some level, an unsafe person."

"The act reveals either a desire for violent predation of the strong upon the weak, to be enacted on levels of racial and religious bigotry and sexual dominance and power and wealth; or else an indifference, or else an ignorance, but in any case the person who has managed to get themselves to such a place cannot be assumed safe, and must in fact be presumed unsafe."

@wdlindsy too many #trumpers in my local #hamRadio clubs for me to see them as #safeplaces. #ARES #RACES particularly so. (#CERT, not so much because it largely led by #blackwomen & run by #FEMA). How would they respond to communications #emergenies in 75% #AfricanAmerican #princegeorgescounty? I began to lose interest in local #emcomm years ago when "teammates" indicated that they wouldn't #volunteer in #sketchyneighborhoods . #america is #sketchyneighborhood for #blackfolks. #blackmastodon

@wdlindsy If that is the case, the only recourse is violence. The entrenched oligarchy will not give up their money or political influence.

@wdlindsy It's notable that there's another side of the story about the #FEMA official who was fired for telling her team to avoid houses with trump signs. Imagine facing threats from the people you're supposed to serve because #trumpliesmatter.... I can (too easily) imagine being afraid to knock on the door of a house with an "I support a racist asshat who hates government" sign. shoutout to all those brave and #diverse #fema workers #BlackMastodon https://www.yahoo.com/news/fired-fema-worker-says-florida-154722012.html?

️THIS 🧵️ is exactly why I do not trust #BlueSky . This recent push of so many accounts joining at once and the INorganic feel of the movement, combined with the #MAGA money funding the platform and the #Crypto scammer who owns it...
It all just adds up to trouble down the road-- for all of us, on or off of BS
BlueSky's MAGA owners are making it seem like a "safe space" for Liberals now, but I am dead certain the plan is to use it to spread political disunity and disinformation down the road.
I am especially worried abt disunity beginning there & working its way across #SocialMedia . Republicans and MAGA only win when we do not unify and vote together. It's how they won in 2016, how they won this year, & how they plan to win in the future.
Trump did not make huge gains between 2020 & 2024. The problem was a lack of unity behind Harris.
If they can sow enough discontent on the Liberal side, then MAGA can walk in the door unchallenged.

"It’s often said that Trump campaigned expressly on a platform of authoritarian rule, but this also applies to corruption: He didn’t disguise his promises to govern in the direct interests of some of the wealthiest executives & investors in the country—and he won anyway. Trump & his allies will likely interpret this as a green light to engage in an extraordinary spree of unrestrained malfeasance."

Kate Selig reports that the wave of racists texts sent soon after the election to Black people has expanded to include Hispanics and LGBTQ communities. The texts include false claims that they have been 'selected for deportation or to report to a re-education camp,' the FBI warns.

@wdlindsy good to send out “accidental” messages in advance of the actual event. Softens people up; breaks down their resistance. Many people will leave without waiting to be pushed.

@AnneTheWriter1 The rush to BlueSky has surely been interesting to watch. I'm not on BlueSky and haven't felt any impulse to go there. But it's clear there's a big move there from X after the election, isn't it?

@Nazani Thanks for noting that. Yes, we have a long, long history of training for deportions (and, honestly, genocide) when it comes to the Native American population.
