I hate that someone brainwormed me with QubesOS and so there's now this inexorable call of the void to build a PC that actually runs QubesOS in its platonic ideal with proper hardware passthrough and every OS I could ever want.

Specifically looking for a motherboard with properly discreet IOMMU groups on the GPU PCI slots so that it's not bound to the host OS.

@[email protected] why do qubes instead of FreeBSD with Bhyve?
-
@[email protected] now you're just making up words

@[email protected] honestly looking into this it might be more up my alley, I love that qubes is security conscious but I don't actually need that in my daily driver.
-
@[email protected] Ideally, I think that for a secure operating system like Qubes to function correctly you want a very small kernel. I don't exactly think linux is fit to be dom0.
-
@[email protected] I absolutely feel that on my 10yo desktop

@[email protected] yeah i feel like fedora is a pretty heavy distro.
