"On the same day that Trump declared he had the right to interfere in a presidential election to put himself in power, the pro-Trump owner of X, Elon Musk, reposted to his nearly 200 million followers a statement suggesting that women and men who can’t...

@Judeet99 Touché. Exactly so. Thanks for pointing out that central and very telling point.

@nf3xn I think probably that R. Reich is not in favor of eliminating others — as I'm not, either.

@Terypat It is hilarious, isn't it? And you're right: these "alpha" men are exemplars of high rationality? Reality? When they write in adolescent soundbytes reeking with the few emotions they can express, like rage?
-
@vruz Well-stated. I agree.

@Kierkegaanks Thank you for reminding me and others of his connection to Starlink and how dangerous that is.

@wdlindsy I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: too many men have convinced themselves that their feeling of being logical is the same as actually being logical, and that feeling is often just a failure to truly consider hypotheticals and a massive failure of empathy.

@wdlindsy to be clear, I was calling elon the dough boy. I would hate for anyone to confuse that.
-
@WhiteCatTamer That's extremely well-stated. I agree. In my own field of religious studies, there's been a lot of valuable commentary for some years by women scholars about the pretensions of males to own rationality, and how these pretensions mask and provide a vehicle for male control of women.

@Kierkegaanks @nf3xn Yes, good points. I suppose I react to the word "eliminate" when it's unqualified, since it suggest violence to me.

@wdlindsy I recommend the Hashtag #TESCREAL for this deeply fascist ideology these people follow. That is why such words/actions are hardly surprising. (Surprising is only the number of collaborateurs on Birdcrap). The best summary about the acronym TESCREAL as an introduction: https://washingtonspectator.org/understanding-tescreal-silicon-valleys-rightward-turn/

@wdlindsy @Kierkegaanks I personally prefer some very public, extreme violence to be visited upon him, obviously within an entirely legal framework, to serve as a warning to the others. These techbros are become mighty uppity. Some overkill is warranted, though I guess that it need not be violent just something that would give every other little prick pause and maybe decide to favor charitable foundations lest they be next. My personal preference just happens to be crucifixion. You do you.

@wdlindsy forget point 5; the US has neutered NASA and is absolutely dependent on SpaceX. Unless we’re talking about nationalization, then I’m all in.

@wdlindsy Sorry to be a fact checker but while Project 2025 is pretty vile and would ruin peoples’ lives it does NOT say what this slide claims. The section on the Department of Labor - which does start on page 581 - has all kinds of nonsense, including references to Judeo-Christen tradition, but no where does it suggest women have children, stay at home, and mother. Let’s stick to the facts, which are bad enough, shall we?
