This is shameful. VIA Rail used to provide excellent passenger rail across the country, now it can barely provide services in a few regional areas. The Canadian govt needs to commit to passenger rail to make it great again & provide it nationally

@larryneufeld It really is. We shied away from making these generational investments in public transportation infrastructure when the money was cheaper the last 15 years and now we will either never do it, or turn it over to the market, which isn;t the answer.

it was "turned over to the market” decades ago.
Greyhound.Then they lost interest, the world changed (mail services), and they left.
We desperately need nationalized public transportation companies in this country!
