Ten years ago, we launched the first Technical Preview of Vivaldi with one simple goal, to create “a browser for our friends” as an alternative to Big Tech. A decade later, we now have millions of friends around the globe.
While Big Tech operates with endless budgets and aggressive data monetization, we’ve stayed true to our principles. We put independence, privacy, and our friends first.
A decade from now we'll still be fighting for a better Web as we build the most powerful, personal, and private browser for our friends.
Ten years of making new friends by building a browser for you, not Big Tech | Vivaldi Browser
Monday January 27th marks the ten year anniversary of our first ever public technical preview. We set out to make a powerful browser for our friends.

@Vivaldi Congratulations on this great and memorable #milestone. 🥳
I've been using #VIVALDI since the first technical preview and I can't imagine working without it, both privately and professionally.
VIVALDI offers me unique opportunities to work organized, efficiently and securely. This is all thanks to the great team behind the best #browser in the world.
In addition to all the profit-orientated tech giants, it is invaluable to have good alternatives that protect the privacy of their users. ️
I would like to thank the entire VIVALDI #team for their fantastic work over the last 10 years. You guys make the difference!
