I have the opposite problem! My grades were not great but I speak 3-4 Chinese languages, including mandarin
Mandarin as it was taught in our schools was not fun or useful

What do you think could have made learning Mandarin more fun / useful ?

@tuban_muzuru not focus so much on rote learning. A lot of mandarin studies is based on memorization and testing and is extremely boring
