The distressing #Apple War On Affordances carries on with #macOS 15 #Sequoia. There is nary a button visible to dismiss this modal dialog in the App Store app. You just have to know to…uh…click somewhere in the grayed-out area…I guess…to dismiss it.
Clicking *on* the dialog also dismisses it for some reason? And you can’t select the text in the dialog—dragging in the dialog also dismisses it. Horrendous.
Clicking somewhere other than the grayed-out area (for instance, on the sidebar) does *not* dismiss the dialog. In fact, you can navigate away from the dialog by selecting another entry in the sidebar. In other words, the “dialog” is no longer a modal window overlaying the main window, but a subview of the content view.
The whole thing smells like a React.js web app.
This is distressing. It’s another useless, novice-hostile change, and a further erosion of the macOS HIG.

@drahardja is it not a webview? I always thought it was.
