Having trouble searching for this: does anyone know if there is such a thing as a "generic" ActivityPub backend that can be tied to multiple frontends somehow? Ie. can I run Mastodon (or something micro-blogging-like) and Bookwyrm (or something else, I'm sure Bookwyrm doesn't support this but it's just an example) while having both post as if they were @sam at social.coop? I feel like somebody has to have made a backend for this that other frontends can tie into and publish their own objects

@sam I've also been looking for this - it feels like there should be a way do content negotiation to show something sensible for different kinds of frontends.

@kattrali I *think* that part of it already exists actually? Unsure. I haven't dug deep into activitypub, but I believe any instance can publish and consume any type of object (and they all have their own types so they can be displayed differently). So in theory different front ends could all send their own object types to a backend that published them all under the same address. I'm not 100% sure though, and if that is correct I'd be surprised that it doesn't exist already so maybe I'm wrong?
