Welcome ex-Redditors!

"Tankie" is a pejorative that basically looks like an exact replica of McCarthy's strawman of a Communist. The purpose of the term is to claim the accused that they genuinely hold those McCarthyian characteristics, regardless of reality. It shuts down conversation because it would be inconvenient to have those conversations, it's a thought-terminating cliché more than a real thing.
Tankie is a pejorative label generally applied to authoritarian communists, especially those who support acts of repression by such regimes, their allies, or deny the occurrence of the events thereof

i agree, commies trying to claim FOSS is really a stretch, they are desperate to pretend to be relevant

Is Lemmy.ml really that bad? I haven't spent enough time on lemmy to know yet.
Yeah, if you're pathologically afraid of actual communist theory.
-
Welcome!

Brother you literally cannot be pro-capitalist and be left wing.

I did twice. Just let go of the past. Embrace the future.
It's not about past or future, it's about contributing to the instance that tests new releases first and helping the people that provide an alternative to mainstream centralized media

Never once said criticizing Russia makes someone a Nazi.
I never once SAID you said that. I said "basically saying", which isn't saying, is it? It's me saying that you're implying it.
DARVO is a reaction that perpetrators of wrongdoing, such as sexual offenders, may display in response to being held accountable for their behavior.
I've done nothing wrong. I've defended no-one who does anything wrong nor have I ignored criticising anyone or taken any sides. Like I explicitly already said, since the start of your "you seem like a Nazi for opposing Russia" childish garbage, I am Finnish, and in the Finnish reserves. We LITERALLY fought Nazis and Russians. I mention it, because you started this whole shit with such as asinine statement like "you can't even imagine fighting Nazism and Russia can you". My family literally has. Yours hasn't, I would bet.
Like I said, you didn't answer. You PRETEND like you've criticised Russia and say you've acknowledged the war crimes, but you actively avoid doing that. You didn't answer those crimes either.
You are a perpetrator of dezinformatsiya, consciously or not, so this is your "darvo"
Do you agree that Russia illegally invaded Ukraine and has perpetrated all those crimes I listed?
"deny, attack, and reverse victim & offender"
I noted that Russia perpetrates warcrimes. You instantly ignored that and told me I must be a Nazi and that I couldn't even imagine fighting Nazism (since I'm against Russia). Then you make yourself out to be the victim, as if you've done nothing wrong.
Like I said, you simply can't control your projection. It's hilarious. No, not everyone who criticises Nazism is pro-Russia. Just the pro-Russian shills who aren't actually opposed to fascism, but actually crave the authoritarian cum from Putler's tiny dick.

Yeah, if you're pathologically afraid of actual communist theory.
Um no, you and your fellow Tankies support Authoritarian communism
Tankie is a pejorative label generally applied to authoritarian communists, especially those who support acts of repression by such regimes, their allies, or deny the occurrence of the events thereof. More specifically, the term has been applied to those who express support for one-party Marxist–Leninist socialist republics, whether contemporary or historical. It is commonly used by anti-authoritarian leftists, including anarchists, libertarian socialists, left communists, democratic socialists, and reformists to criticise Leninism, although the term has seen increasing use by liberal and right‐wing factions as well.
I for one wouldn't mind seeing the fall of capitalism in my lifetime, but not to replace it with just another flavor of authoritarianism.
-
I think it's either trolls or people who have realised how capitalism exploits them, but instead of becoming actual leftists, they just jumped to worshipping another oppressive system instead. Lemmy seems to be very US-centric, so I think the thought process for some has been:
- America bad
- America says [insert communist or 'communist' country here] bad
- Therefore [insert communist or 'communist' country here] good
So basically, not being able to understand nuance.
-
Welcome to lemmy newbies, here is your first official feud post.
Solidarity amongst the instances! We will not be divided!
-
I'm not gonna be equipped to make a nuanced and detailed take right now but in my experience hexbears are alright, fun to talk to, I can learn things from them, and at worst they're spicy.

After numerous temporary bans, I am the recipient of a permanent ban from Reddit. In a reply, I stated "Don't ask, don't tell, don't say tranny." From that Reddit determined I am a hateful individual. As their conclusion defined them as dysfunctional and extremely judgmental, their offer to file an appeal prompted me to author "Don't ask, don't tell, don't say Reddit."
I know it isn't powerful and offensive, but since they are offended by a belch, fart, eye-twitch or hiccup, I am sure it will do to make my point.
Glad to be aboard.
