Welcome ex-Redditors!

I meant that one, my bad

Again, despite claims to the contrary, tankie for most people means "anything left of the Democrats, or willingness to break with US foreign policy."
-
And critically, not just since Trump. As soon as the ink dried on the Nazi surrender, the US and OSS/CIA armed and funded every fascist they could find since fascists are the most dedicated anti-communists.

Welcome

They really are a community of nice people trying to protect their peace, as far as I've seen. They just defederated from instances with open registration due to influx of trolls, and a lot of users from those groups got offended over it. It was minor drama, but nothing offensive. It's a bit sad that they're still being vilified over it.
-
Perhaps that's because your instance is defederated from them? They were all over the place before most other major instances defederated from them. They are still all over the place if you're on an instance that federates with them.

who love strawmen
like “narwhal bacon”

Yay, I'm glad you like it there! It's definitely more slow moving than the rest of Lemmy, but I like their weekly community chats and stuff. Also a killer gardening community.
-
Get the app: sync for Lemmy! It's amazing

Them not federating with another instance doesn't stop other instances seeing their content. It only stops their instance seeing the blocked instance's content.
-
There are some real weirdos here that have this as the major part of their personality.
Like that guy with the Buckies profile pic? lol I see him everywhere
-
I'd rather have the wild west of ideas over reddit. So I don't mind em

I mean you say that, but it's not like every community on .ml is focused on politics man. Their largest communities are mostly about tech. And they have a pretty cool, albeit somewhat inactive datahoarders community, of whom I think some are helping with redundant archival of datasets being erased by Trump's administration.

If instance A isn't federated with instance B, nobody from instance B sees instance A's content. That is different from a block.

Is it server side or can I remove it for myself? I am not a garden flower, words don't offend me.

As far as I'm aware, you'll have to move to another instance if you want to see slurs that badly.
