I just posted this valuable statement by Noah Berlatsky on Facebook, and Facebook immediately took down the posting
-
It’s the same arrogance that infected Nazi Germany, rooted in so called racial supremacy that led to scenes like this before it got a lot worse. Behind the uniforms civilians look on, smiles on their faces. These were probably their neighbours, or shopkeepers they knew.
The infection of fascism is a curse upon the world.

@wdlindsy Oh look! It was immediately removed
-
@wdlindsy The problem is and has been they bring up politics within the first 5 minutes of conversation they have nothing else to talk about. This was taboo only 10 years ago but now thanks to them everything is on the table. And then I start challenging them and they get triggered. There's just no reason to do it you already know what the bourgeoise sheep are going to say and do I"m just not that in to conspiracy theories.
-
@wdlindsy They make up for their lack of understanding of history and intelligent commentary with overwhelming voting numbers in swing states and shouting down equality with white billionaire money. It's always either a demagogue, a conspiracy theory, or some kind of nostalgia about how they are being oppressed. Boring.
-
@wdlindsy @Savvyhomestead I will NEVER be associated with a MAGAt again!
-
@otownKim @Savvyhomestead We definitely have a right to choose our friends and to choose what family members we want to connect to. I'm surprised at those who seem to think otherwise.
-
@Paxil Well-stated and insightful. I agree.

@PeasLuvnJustice Thanks for letting me know. Yes, several others have told me the same thing has happened when they tried posting it. Something in the Facebook is obviously configured now to prevent that article from being shared.
-
@serendip1959 Yes — and this is history we forget to our great peril right now.

"Question of if/when Republican family/friends should be shunned by those who will be directly harmed by their support of Trump—and the fact that the possibility infuriates Republicans so much—comes down to this simple fact:
Bullies need victims. But victims don’t need bullies."
~ A.R. Moxon
-
@wdlindsy Let them bully each other.
-
@carfreesince93 I'm not really clear on who "them" is in your statement.
-
@wdlindsy the bullies!
-
@carfreesince93 I see. I think the point that A.R. Moxon is making is that MAGA thrives on bullying, but no one has an obligation to feed themselves to MAGA — by continuing to associate with those folks — as a victim.

"[Jesse Watters] says that, after last week’s election, [his mother] has disinvited him from Thanksgiving. We hope that isn’t a bit, and we hope it isn’t performance art, because one of the few things giving us true joy right now is hearing MAGA Nazis cry because they’ve lost the love, support, and acceptance of their families after voting for Donald Trump. They sure do hate the 'find out' part of 'fuck around, find out.'”
