@[email protected] *To be themselves around you.
Sorry, but I had to add that "correction" because while my mother often times says that she "supports" me fully, she often times dismissed me entirely. Bringing up things like "not around your siblings" and "please, not now". While it’s technically true she "supports" me I do not get to express myself at all. She supports my computer tinkering, and yet whenever I try to talk about anything related she will make snide comments about "Not everyone wants to hear about your computers $NAME". I feel anything but supported when she cannot feign the slightest of interest in what I am passionate about. -
@puppygirlhornypost2 @revoluciana hey amber what foes $NAME mean

@[email protected] She said this in relation to when I was talking about feeling scared living in this state because of the continued anti lgbtq sentiment displayed by our state politicians. I’m sorry mom but when’s the right time to tell you I’m scared that I’m not going to have rights, I’m scared that I’ll be killed for who im attracted to. And it’s not like I was loudly saying this either? My siblings were in the other room and it was a quiet talk. They had the tv on there was no way they could hear.

@[email protected] @[email protected] just a place holder for my legal name

@puppygirlhornypost2 if there are boundaries to who and when you are allowed to be yourself, then you're not being encouraged to be yourself.
Not just "around you." Everywhere.

@puppygirlhornypost2 @revoluciana
The people who actually support me don't have to tell me that, because I can see their support
The people who keep telling me they support me are invariably the ones whose "support" consists entirely of telling me how much they support me

@puppygirlhornypost2 @revoluciana I feel like this happens a lot more often than I've seen, considering that I'm also in a similar situation.
