Both, but definitely more on stage than not. I was good at it. I won awards! But computers paid better.

@rk cool! I found out very quickly I canβt memorise lines. But to this day, I can make a great lighting plan for anything.

@octothorpe I was tech. Ran the sound board and helped my best friend with lighting.
King nerds. We had keys to the booth and it was our own private office.

@jwilker Niiiiice!! I too, was in heaven doing lights. Looking back, my secondary school basically had a Harry Potter-like house separation of dutiesβ¦ Fly, aka βHellβ, were totally Slytherin.

@octothorpe I was a high school Thespian! (sounds like an after school special )
I really wanted to be an actor for a while, but also enjoyed running the spotlight or assistant directing when I got a chance. Never had any big roles but I had fun.
-
@octothorpe Needs a "both" vote option. That's what I would have picked if I could.

@jwilker @octothorpe My daughters (8th and 6th grade) are both in middle school drama club this year. The oldest is one of the stage managers and in charge of sound, and her younger sister is now the sound apprentice. οΈ

@jwilker @octothorpe And I was a sound/lighting tech pretty much my whole undergrad life, but mostly in the campus auditorium and local San Antonio venues. And the summer Shakespeare Festival. Ah, man I miss those days.
