    @PitaJ seems to work. Disabled the emoji-pack. Did a ./nodebb build after stopping nodebb. I was able to add a new emoji, then hit the 'build asset' button. Stopped nodebb again, did another ./nodebb build, went back to the emoji panel, no issues, no errors.
    Thanks again for the help, sorry I wasn't able to find what went wrong.

    Websocket error with NodeBB running through a proxy server

    To resolve this, I changed the Proxy module I was using. It uses less code to implement and works with websockets. I think the NodeBB Node.js proxy documentation is out of date so I'll be submitting a PR with the new method I found.

    Working code is as follows:

    /** * Proxy forum */ const proxy = require('http-proxy-middleware'); // Forum Proxy app.use( '/forum', proxy({ target: 'http://www.myforum.co.uk/forum', changeOrigin: true, ws: true, }) );

    Another potential GOTCHA here is that this Prixy setup needs to be declared ABOVE the 'body-parser' module (if it's being used). The wrong order will prevent post requests from being proxied.

    @mttprvst13 It probably failed because you don't have mod_rewrite enabled.

    Do

    a2enmod rewrite systemctl restart apache2

    Apache 2.4 proxy for NodeBB has socket.io problems

    Hi folks,

    I used the 2.4 proxy instructions from the docs. But it's not working correctly for me. I assume because I want the proxy to only work on '/community'.

    Here's my current setup:

    I have a proxy here: https://openrct2.com/community (HTTPS) NodeBB actually runs on: http://delia.limetric.com:4567/community/ (just normal HTTP)

    The proxy itself works great, but socket.io keeps complaining about not being able to connect using websockets: "WebSocket connection to 'wss://openrct2.com/community/socket.io/?EIO=3&transport=websocket&sid=OORktGqFRszzHMQNAAWr' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 400"

    What should I change to my config to make websockets work correctly?
