@emsquared long time since I did a 10K race. Used to like those. Was a time when I was doing that one, Mo Running on Glasgow Green and another Men’s Health one too. PB was 58 minutes. Not run 10K in a long time but working on it.
-
@bobthomson70 I'd happily walk in. Kudos for doing the running. Hope you can build up to it again.
-
@emsquared there was a walk for kidney disease I did a couple of times too, must be others like it.
It’s certainly way harder this time than when I started with a similar couch to 5K app in 2013. Big difference in kidney health unfortunately. All helps though. It’s more the recovery days that can be a wipeout but it’s getting a little easier as I go. -
@emsquared do you have better days with fatigue or is it mostly awful?
-
@emsquared have done it many times before but not for years. My neice wanted to beat her pb so I said I'd do it too and pace her...then she got injured, fine I'll do it myself...met up with friends on Monday and one of them gave me the lurgi, I'm now laid up with a bad cold, no chance I'll be running tomorrow.
-
@bazzargh Ah nuts. Bloody lurgi. Is it 10k or more?
Get well very soon. -
@emsquared I was going for the half. I used to do 10ks in 40m and 1/2s in 1h40 but that was over a decade ago; I didn't expect to break 2h. Still, off the back of a few years of being unwell (gallstones, now fixed) getting back to doing 15k runs every week has been worth it even if I can't race.

@bazzargh Good stuff. Gallstones, ouch.
