@[email protected] honestly? At this point I prefer the "professor" style thumbnail in which it’s just a shot at the camera, or a screenshot of content overview. Let’s say I was making a video about a C# framework… the thumbnail I’d pick (even though I know it wouldn’t be catchy) is something like "Exploring $X C# Library" white text black background, maybe I emphasize the library name by putting it in red or another poppy color.

@[email protected] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdgULBpRoXk take a look at how this youtuber does thumbnails. I really like this style. It shows the content, it explains roughly what the video is. I don't feel "enticed" to click on it, if I'm not interested I don't. there's no clickbait of "EXPLORING THE MOST UNDERRATED C# LIBRARY IN 2024?!" with my mouth agape pointing vaguely towards the backdrop.
