WhatsApp keeps asking me to allow it full access to my contacts, and I'm torn...
-
@andycarolan I'm so glad @GrapheneOS has its contact scopes feature which dealt with that exact issue for me. It's mad WhatsApp can basically force you to give them your contacts like that - should be illegal imo.

@globcoco I think it's a great idea to use visuals to get the message across... I've seen people use them to great effect.
I'm not familiar with those apps, but do occasionally use Procreate
-
@hypercube As I said, I just don't trust WhatsApp. It's annoying that so many people use it. I prefer to use Apple Messages, but it leaves out so many people. Although that said, the addition of RCS helps a bit. @GrapheneOS

@globcoco No, I haven't seen it! Do you have a link?
The apps I use are mostly Adobe CC (Illustrator and Fresco), but also Procreate, and I did have a play with Linea, which is very nice and great to just jump into and sketch.

@andycarolan yeah, Meta needs to know with whom you’re talking to, when, which groups, what are your interests and more! Meta won’t give you anything for free!

@andycarolan Absolutely do NOT trust them.

@globcoco Ooh, those are really good! I love them!
As you can imagine, I work visually, so I find visual notes WAY better than a page full of text.

@globcoco Affinity is really good... if I didn't have to use Adobe CC for work (for compatibility reasons), I would probably pick Affinity. I do have it installed, and I dip into it occasionally. Need to upgrade to the newest version though.

@tekphloyd Meta scares me... they seem to be somewhat unstoppable, and without any kind of moral compass.

@andycarolan yep! That’s how they have been since the Facebook website went online. It’s a shame that so many people and businesses depend on Instagram and WhatsApp.

I definitely heard a lot of good stuff about it. Pity I cannot use it on my tablet or on Linux though

@tekphloyd Yup, 100%. I gave up on IG as the engagement was minimal... and got worse when Meta turned it into a shopfront.

Well there is mypaint which is fine. But the truth is that I have been much more on my tablet to do my sketchnotes.

@globcoco Tablet is definitely more natural to work on... especially for sketch notes I’m sure!
