I want to migrate and run a forum on 0.7 but the import plugin actually only works on 0.6 ( on 0.7 gets stuck)
so, any way to update form 0.6 to 0.7 with same database and without losing posts and users?
@Gaurav-Grv-Robinson It looks like NodeBB uses the nodemailer package under the covers, but the UI may only present SMTP transport options.
Your best bet is to use an SMTP server that's configured to listen/login/relay email on your behalf, this is a little different than a mail spooling system that in the end may relay, or otherwise send directly. If you have an inbound mail server that also has smtp for outbound, use that.
I tend to just use SendGrid (hosted SaaS mail delivery) for my outbound emails, because delivery rates come out much better. There are other services, and depending on where you are hosting, they may offer one.
Will offer my way of fixing.. probably something went wrong in the themes, aside from css, probably version mismatches with the core nodebb version your using. The below will revert to working vanilla and lavender theme versions that match w/ your core nodebb install version. (probably need to stick with whatever theme versions it reinstalls, because I've always had problems w/ updating themes, I don't upgrade them anymore) Stick with what came with the nodebb install originally. This will revert back to originals:
