Chatter about banning TP-Link equipment. I have some, works great, gets updates. Probably secure enough for my purposes. Various complaints from western security orgs about poor responsiveness to reported vulns.
Another perspective is the Open-WRT One that just arrived. Open and great in many ways, but made in China and distributed via AliExpress... does that make it a security risk..even though I'm going to flash it with OpenWRT all the time?

a lot of non-Chinese companies do a shit job of providing regular and responsive updates too.
It feels like a bit of a see-saw between intelligence groups trying to gain a bit of upper hand on being the first to receive <0d. Obv a Chinese company is going to obliged to favour the local goons and not be too cozy with the NSA or it's proxies in corporate security.
