Should studies be done even during vacations?

After an entire years hard work, vacation is a time when children can relax. If this time is used for studies, wouldn't that be just pressure on students. Are there any benefits of continuing with such studies during the vacation? Also, what exactly is an EYFS program (Edsys)?
