Joining the US military has a lot of benefits.

Except you don't know anything about my involvement in politics, and I didn't even mention it here. I came here as someone who is involved in moderation on the Fediverse to say that the content of these messages themselves was completely inappropriate. Now that it looks like they've been taken down, my entire grievance is settled. -

@Raccoon I'm kind of curious on your thoughts about the regular genocide apologism he engages in (see link in second last post). Regularly talking about a lack of sympathy for ethnic cleansing would be an instant ban from most instances, except he chose an ethnic minority that's politically correct to discriminate against!

So, to reiterate something I said in a moderation post a while back, there are viewpoints we can discuss and viewpoints we shouldn't discuss. That the October attack justified the current invasion of Gaza, that the nature of Hamas and Gaza as a densely populated area makes casualties unavoidable, and that the anti-war camp has a problem with anti-semites and people who are letting their anger sabotage the greater goals of the movement (such as allowing Donald Trump to be reelected), are all legitimate courses of discussion. I'm even willing to assume that the accusations of anti-Semitism being thrown around are "them seeing something I'm not", rather than outright lies, considering Jewish people, like every marginalized group, deal with constant underhanded tactics.I think the bigger issue with discussing ideas like this is that people need to follow some rules of civility here, and stop the accusations, insults, and harassment. That's my big issue here.

...that being said, it is obviously completely inappropriate to say that any ethnic group, including the palestinians, should be killed for the actions of people who happen to be supposed members of said group, even if they claim to represent the absolute will of every member of that group, as Hamas and the Netanyahu regime do for the ethnic groups they identify themselves as.That is collective punishment, and it's not only a war crime, it's completely unreasonable, illogical, and unsustainable.
So while the support for Israel itself here, or the feeling that this is insulting to the troops, or the idea that propaganda is playing a part here, isn't necessarily something that I hold issue with, that post they made a while back that the October attack would be responded to with "total destruction" felt concerningly close to a call for genocide. So to answer your question...
I am finding his statements extremely concerning.
