Lots being written lately about how adroit Harris has been with the corporate media not taking the bait with all their insipid gotcha questions. Indeed, this strategy does thwart their ability to negatively define her, but it also does something else. It turns the tables on the media, and refocused attention on their corrupt agenda to manipulate the electorate. Exposing corporate media as not trustworthy, thereby makes it easier to sidestep them and take her messaging directly to the voters.

@mastodonmigration This is another aspect of enshittification. Oligarchs buy up the most respected traditional media, first announcing that they will do nothing to influence editorial content or news coverage, but eventually find such interference irresistible. Then Musk buys the most influential non-traditional news platform in the name of free speech and immediately uses it to promote his own views. Now we see the rise of so-called "indy" media, like Meidas Touch, but the platforms on which they run are also controlled by Big Tech. Mastodon and the federated model are a bit different, but ISPs and other entities in the internet infrastructure can be used to suppress federated traffic. In the long run, it sort of looks like we are screwed.

If it were true that people were simply puppets on strings controlled by these billionaire media enterprises, then we would truly be screwed.
But when people realize what is being done to them, reach up and cut the strings, we reestablish agency over our democracy.
This us why it is critical to pull back the curtain, expose these marionettes and set ourselves free of their devious manipulations.
