Isn't that why we have the term neonazi? Nothing watered-down about that!

The no true Scotsmen skit is due for a refresh, with a group making excuses about how a series of people aren't real Nazis.

No one here is doing that. What was said is that if a south African does a racist thing, you shouldn't go out of your way to give them benefit of doubt.

i think itās a fairly good satire of the situationā¦ of course musk didnāt say he was a nazi, but he did give the contemporary neo-nazi salute of hitting his chest firstā¦ twice in a row, the same wayā¦.
and thereās actually an argument as to whether or not he meant itā¦ even though itās not ambiguous at all, and heās had a history of promoting far-right content, the AfD, and his wealth originates in Apartheid South Africa and is obviously soak in bloodā¦.
itās pretty absurd that anyone would deny it.

I thought the point of a joke was to be funny? What is funny about memeing a Nazi salute?
People are goddamn morons.

makes sense

Cognitive dissonance, baybee.
It's uncomfy to come to terms with the fact that a Nazi is in an extremely powerful unelected position, so obviously he can't possibly be a Nazi and everything is fine

They're lying. The joke is on you.
"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."
Jean-Paul Sartre

Pizzacakecomics is on the frontpage of reddit exactly because it's heavy-handed and only mildly funny. But this is one of those "if Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favorable reference to the devil" kinda situations, so I give them proper recognition for speaking up.

There has been no argument from Musk.
