It was explicitly Nazi and any news organization that doesn’t describe it as such is committing severe malpractice.

@timbray Yes, explicitely but also the thing that really struck me, which I haven't seen much commentary on, is the force with which he made the gesture. The video shows the biting of his lip and then the chest pound with his arm swinging forcefully up and outward. He's projecting a lot of aggression, not gratitude.
