If you use #Bluesky be sure to install a tracker blocker.

@mastodonmigration @BlurryBitsPhoto 'dozens'? Over 4,000 here.
-
Yikes.

-
-
@herhandsmyhands @mastodonmigration also these are just interaction tracking attempts, nothing ugly at all. the post is misleading.
-
@mastodonmigration none of these are at all sketchy, none are third party, and testing myself reveals the same. interaction tracking is used to monitor and improve the app. nothing untoward here.
-
It's not misleading because it is a screenshot of the log. You may say that it is a nothing burger, but people get to decide whether they want to be tracked or not. If you feel comfortable with this that's entirely up to you.

@mastodonmigration @BlurryBitsPhoto Does anyone know if there's a blocker that can be installed for Firefox on an iPhone?

Think it should be the same. Can't you just install the uBlock extension
On Android it is the three dots on the top right and select Extensions, then search for uBlock and follow the prompts. Would think it should be the same on iPhone.
Anyone who can confirm?

@mastodonmigration @herhandsmyhands
I just now installed the duckduckgo browser on a Chromebook/android It has a 'fire' button to block and log tracking attempts. -
@knowattitude @herhandsmyhands
Cool, was not aware of a duckduckgo browser. Will check it out.
-
@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] nope. iOS Firefox has no access to extensions or plugins. It simply is not a thing.
-
BTW, aside from the events.bsky.app... trackers blocked there is one called statsigapi.net... https://statsigapi.net/v1/sdk_exception that also triggers on Privacy Badger. Do you know what that is? Is it likewise innocuous?
Here is the scam-detector entry for this link: https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/statsigapi-net-review/

Oh, thanks for clarifying.
-
@mastodonmigration @BlurryBitsPhoto Thanks. I can't check right now. Will report back when I do.
-
@mastodonmigration @vasyasovari @BlurryBitsPhoto Oh ok thanks
-
Someone just chimed in that the answer is no. Apple does not allow mobile browser extensions. Sorry.

@stuxSharing if this helps.
This is what my trackers show me about bluesky. It is mainly adblock plus, but that extension does not show the details. Duck duck go does identify third party trackers but they go back to bluesky I think.
-
Yeah super tracker free
-
Some other comments here about the duckduckgo browser for iPhone. That might be an option?
Anyone know anything about this?

@stux @mastodonmigration @BlurryBitsPhoto
Also, don't be fooled by deck-blue. There are way more trackers there as well.
