@HannahHowe Most of the 70s for me was at the time. The 60s had already happened by the time I was music aware and BBC Radio 1 in the daytime played the 60s stuff to death at us so I guess that counts as retro.

@emsquared @HannahHowe same but shifted a little later. Not sure what age folks get to be really aware of popular music but I would say for me it was about 8 or 9, by which time the 70s were coming to and end for me.

@bobthomson70 @HannahHowe Obviously going to be different for each of us. I guess I am that punk, new wave generation that then eased into the 80s (though rentagob Paul Morley prefers the Kraftwerk generation as the big cultural influence rather than The Beatles of the previous generation). I'd say more the Bowie generation even though I was still too young really for Ziggy. Obvs a shock to "suddenly" be old but glad I experienced a lot of genuinely new stuff when it was current.
