Is TurnItIn the *only* plagiarism detector software out there?

I'm trying to figure out how grad students' theses and dissertations get added to the corpora that plagiarism detectors use, and the people who negotiate our license with Proquest and run our IR are referring me to the people who negotiate our campus license for TurnItIn....

@kdnyhan I looked into it during my MSc. Basically they seemed to insist every marked piece of work had to go through it.
